2004-2007 | The saxophonist Donat Fisch replaced Tom Varner in the "Peter Schärli Special Sextet featuring Glenn Ferris". During the concert tour in February and April 2006 in Austria and Switzerland the 250th concert was played. Concerts at many venues, among others at the "Swiss Kiss Festival" in Vienna. |
1994-2004 | "Peter Schärli Quintet with Glenn Ferris" becomes "Peter Schärli Special Sextet featuring Glenn Ferris and Tom Varner" (Béatrice Graf - dr, Thomas Dürst - b, Hans Feigenwinter - p, Tom Varner - frh, Glenn Ferris - tb, Peter Schärli - tp/flh). In May 2004 the "Peter Schärli Special Sextet featuring Glenn Ferris and Tom Varner" celebrated its tenth anniversary. Since 1994 this band performed more than 200 concerts (festivals and clubs) in Germany, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Bolivia and Colombia (among other festivals: Willisau, Brugge, Schaffhausen, Lausanne, Slany, Bogotá, Barranquilla, Manizales, Sucre, La Paz). |
1988-1994 | Expansion of the Quintet to "Peter Schärli Quintet with Glenn Ferris" (Marco Käppeli - dr, Thomas Dürst - b, Giancarlo Nicolai - g, Roland Philipp - ts/ss, Glenn Ferris - tb, Peter Schärli - tp/flh). Concerts in Germany, France, the former USSR and in India (among others festivals in Schaffhausen, St. Johann, Stuttgart, New Delhi, Bombay, Bangalore, Goa, Riga, Pärnu, Vilnius, Donetzk). Big event in Kiew: This band performed the first jazz concert ever in a Lenin-Museum in the entire USSR. |
